Frequently asked questions
What is contemporary folk?
It is the music of current artists who use the folk format, with guitar and voice, but write new songs, sometimes mixed with pop, rock or electronic music.
Are folk and country the same thing?
They are related. Country grew in part out of American folk music, but has a sound and a tradition of its own. Folk is broader and exists in almost every country.
