Frequently asked questions
Are MPB and bossa nova the same thing?
No. Bossa nova is a specific style, with soft guitar and jazz-influenced harmonies, and it can appear within MPB. MPB is a much broader label that gathers many styles.
Does MPB have a single sound?
No. Since it is an umbrella for several styles, an MPB station can play anything from acoustic songs to tracks with electric guitars, always around the Brazilian popular song.
